[Pro] Video not playing

Hi everyone, I’ve tried this a couple of ways now and no real success.

On the specified page I have a video which I’ve downloaded from Youtube. It downloaded as a 6.6mb mp4 file.

I’ve now tried adding this a couple of ways, the first was by getting Quicktime to convert it for me, which outputs 3 different files, and you add the relevant code to your page, but this left a big black band overlaid on the page (maybe an incompatibility with Webyep?), although the video worked.

Next I tried adding into an HTML box and used the FW actions to generate and specify which movies to use. The Freeway generated movies were VERY jerky, so I ignored them and specified the other files generated by Quicktime.

Now none of the movies seem to work - any ideas?

thanks
Trev

Why not just use the YT action YouTube - ActionsForge

Once again, thanks Dave. I didn’t even know this existed. If Walter’s plan for a complete Actionsforge update could have gone ahead, it would have made life easier - I just don’t know what to search for!

Thanks, I’ll give that a go now.

David, that works perfectly thanks, so no problem with the playing of the video. However, it’s ‘chosen’ a random frame for a poster frame, which makes the client look like a complete and utter gonk.

Is there any way I can change this?

thanks again

Have you tried the YT action on an otherwise completely blank page - not quite sure why you are getting that ‘poster frame’

Morning Dave, yes, tried that originally and it came up the same. Every time I’ve imported the ‘raw’ Youtube video (the one this site is accessing) it previews the same, but my attempts with both Quicktime and Freeway conversions just used the beginning of the video as the poster frame, which is a better picture.

I’ve now added another version using the videojs action and this also show the correct poster frame, but the video fails to load. - At the moment they’re both on the same page - Link below.

Sorry Trev

I am getting the same Poster Frame using the normal non-action method.

So it is to do with the YT video itself and not the action.

Might well be worth looking on a YT forum to see if you can influence the PF somehow.

OK, will do, and I’ll report back should I find anything out.

Thanks for the help Dave.
