[Pro] Vimeo video conflict with Showcase

Back again with a new and interesting issue. In some browsers the video displays on top of the showcase image when it is in zoom.

here is link test page

To add to this I have already implemented code wmode/transparency as stated in FW support

http://www.softpress.com/kb/questions/187/Forcing+Flash+to+appear+behind+other+content

The problem does not happen on my MAC but it does on other PC’s! and MACs

In some browsers the video displays on top of the showcase image when it is in zoom

I am afraid that is a common issue with plug-in content like Flash. It floats to the top.

For consistent results you are better to work with a layout that avoids this. It is not a FW thing - it is a Browser thing!

Try pasting the following into Page>HTML Markup in the before end head position

<style type="text/css">
<!--
#fwShowcase {
z-index:100 !important;
}
-->
</style>

Dave I so wish it worked. I tried before head and video still comes above the image
oh how I wish this could work… the odd thing is that it works in most Safari’s & Firefox but not in Chrome or IE. I do not care about IE
thanks for the effort you are a champ

When you added the wmode transparent part did you select the embed tag?

Just tried it here and embed does not appear for me. I dont think that the way the Vimeo action works allows you get access to that. That would explain why I am not seeing it in your code.

Have you tried just adding the Flash file to the page in the standard way?

no it would take too long to load. would it not?
there are a hell of a lot of videos on this site, but thats what client wants so there you have it…
but for argumenes sake I will create a flv and see how that works

Can I also say - and this is a personal preference thing and don’t take it personally - that I don’t think that displaying the jewellery on the backs of dead animals is particularly appealing.

I would go so far as to say it would put a lot of people off. You must be able to find a more neutral background - what is wrong with black velvet?

Also the video on the Luxury page adds absolutely nothing - why a video of static objects at all? That is not what video is all about!

Dave

I appreciate your opinions but the client wants this. and the fabric is fake - no animals used

nd the fabric is fake - no animals used

It still looks s**t - and unless you tell people then they wont know!

I can see wmode:opaque on item6 but no mention of transparency! Do you have an Tag when you are using Item>Extended? Are you doing it to item6 if not what are you attaching it to.

What about changing that video on Luxury to a simple 3 image scriptyfader because what you have just now doesn’t do it for me.
