I have a builder client who is starting to shoot video for a lot of their models. Do you think it’s better to place the Vimeo video within a FWP page or simply link to the Vimeo video?
I already know my preference, but I’m curious to read what others think.

Placing something on a page has no bearing on where the original item is
hosted. Vimeo and YouTube servers are geared for serving vids – unless
your server is setup for it and you can afford the extra bandwidth, I would
host it off-site.

Hi Ernie. I didn’t explain my question very well. What I meant is it better to embed the Vimeo video within the FWP website or simply link to Vimeo, which of course takes the viewer to another site?

That’s clearer 
YouTube and Vimeo have both made it fairly easy to embed videos into your
web page. Their controllers both also give the user the option to view the
vids on their site as well, so I would think embedding the content but
leaving the viewer free to choose where/how to view the video content is
the best choice.

I embedded some Vimeo video on my site meaning that when you click on a thumbnail the video is played on my site. In the Vimeo action however there is no option for the viewer to watch it on the Vimeo site as well (so they have no choice). Moreover this is also something you don’t want. Never guide the visitor of YOUR website to another site !!
