A WordPress Blog has to be created in WordPress - a different app altogether from FW.
You may well be able to display a WP Blog page within an iFrame on a FW created page but why would you want to?
Why not just either link to a WordPress page that looks like your FW created site or do the whole site in WP (coz WP is not that easy).
Now if you just want to have a Blog page on your FW site - that is a different thing entirely.
The FW Comments action uses the facilities of Disqus to create a Blog-like experience or you could use a CMS like PulseCMS http://pulsecms.com/ to add a Blog feature to your FW site.
Can you be a bit more specific with what you are trying to achieve?
I have no loyalty to WordPress–I just know a friend who has blogged with all of the platforms and she liked that one the best. I was under the assumption that to have a “blog” you had to use a site like WP, Blogger, ect. ???
I want to add a blog to have an section of my web that keeps my customers informed on my new projects and other information. I would like it to look like my website or at least be complementary but also look like a typical blog with functions like RSS feeds, comments, etc.
Does that give you enough information? Thanks for your help!!!
I can’t comment on Pulse as I’ve never used it. But, if you’d like an example of a FreeWay Pro page created using the blogger templates, take a look at http://flowersongherbals.blogspot.com/
I don’t know of an integrated way to use FW and WP together. But I’ve never been very fond of WP so I’ve never tried, either! David knows his stuff, so I’m sure Pulse is another good option.
Perch http://grabaperch.com also has a nice blog app. While you can just use the blog feature you will still need to install the complete CMS, which is easy to do. The upside is that if/when you want to start putting pages of your site under Perch control it’s easy to do, even from within FW.
Todd and David,
Do either of you know if I insert one of these programs and then go back and modify my website will I loose all of the “blog” information? From what I have read on CMS’s it seems as if this would be true.
The blog content is stored in a database, be it MySQL or flat-file, and that is separate from the site structure/layout/style. If by “modify” you mean change the look or layout of the site then no, you will not lose any blog content, as long as you continue to use the blog feature.
