[Pro] website not working on iphones/ipads

Hi there,

Can anyone help me! I’ve just made live a clients website and although looks and seems to work ok on a desktop… it is doing some funnies on an ipad and iphone. Anyone know how I can stop the menu panels etc, moving up and around the screen on tablets/smart phones?

I’m not a web guru as you can tell.

regards
Jill

p.s. I meant to say that it was started on freeway pro 6 (before the 7 came out).

First thing that I will comment on is that your About page appears to have the file name of www.casa-maripos.html

Yo should change that as it makes the web address of that page http://www.casa-mariposa.com/www.casa-maripos.html

It really should be something like (for Max SEO Juice) about-casa-mariposa.html

As far as the experience on iPad goes it isn’t bad at all.

But for best results on all devices you should move up to FW7’s responsive features and make more use of undefined heights on text boxes etc.

Also set your viewport width to device width (in the Inspector).

Did I say that I hate Splash Pages - they do nothing for your SEO, especially when they contain no meaningful content and in your case no actual text.

Hi David,

Many thanks for taking the time to check out the site. Thank you for the tips on the SEO on the pages. I will change that.

I did try to open up the website in Pro 7 but it changed dramatically all my layout etc. I will try again, cautiously … and see if I can make it more tablet friendly.

Did you see what I meant about the menu panels not sticking to the bottom left of the webpage in a smart phone and ipad?

p.s. I hate splash pages too… they are useless. But the client insisted upon having one, even after me telling them there is no text on there for crawling etc!!

No - because I have only been able to look using iPad and Phone.

However I would suggest that it is never a good idea to fix an item to the bottom left of any screen bearing in mind the variances in screen sizes.
