[Pro] webyep and text styles

I’m creating a cms driven site using webyep and am trying to apply text styles to the different elements.

I’ve created the styles in the style pallet, named them, selected the webyep items and assigned the relevant styles via the palette, uploaded the site and viewed, but none of the styles have applied - I’m still seeing the default font and size.

I’ve done exactly as it says in the webyep instructions, what could I be doing wrong?

As I know you have to apply the styles to the html-element that contains the wy-element means:

insert html (item1)
on click insert webyep text

apply style to item1

and it should work.

Thanks Thomas, but surely not!

I have a table and a single html container each with several webyep items in, if I apply a style to the table or container, it would apply the same style to each web yep element. But I want the different elements to have different styles.

Does this mean that I have to put each web yep element into it’s own html container?

Hi Neil,

applying styles to the table cell (and not to the table itself), you can style each cell as you want, applying style to the table, all cell will follow this style - so I guess:

Yes, if you give your container a certain style - all elements will follow that style.

The problem may go further if you want to have different styles in one webyep element (richtext) for example

Headline
Text
Subline

Max made me a simple example how to do, but I must agree, that I haven`t found the time yet to test (Sorry Max - but I will do for sure) and I found a second possibility in TinyMCE.

I long ago stopped, just to drop the element onto the page and today I totally work with inline boxmodel. Think of elements beneath a webyep textelement. You either have to tell you or your customer not to write that much or this element will be overlaid by text.

And without any structured layout (means elements that show me some relations of my artwork) I would be lost anyway. So I recommend to hold all wy elements within a div to have a better control, Design and Styles.

Yep, you’re right Thomas. Thanks.

I doesn’t say to do it that way in the instruction book, but it appears to work.
