[Pro] Weird description on Google search

http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=usandpartners&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

If you Google “usandpartners” (the site that I built is called: http://www.usandpartners.com/), you get the following description on the index page:

Home - US+Partners - Full-service advertising agency for the …
www.usandpartners.com/item29. c8r64221641107. item32. item36. item33. item37. item34. item38. item35 . item39. Leadership Videos Click, PlayR. Leadership Videos Click · item2a1a …etc
The client is not to happy about it and ask me to do something about it.

Any suggestions???

Appreciate any help,

Dan Demetriad

Looking at the source code there is no meta tag “description” If one is present then the search engines will use this in their results, otherwise they try and build it from the content. In your case there is not much text content so it is using the div tags that were auto generated.

You can add a meta tag Menu: Page>Meta Add the title description and a description that is between 70 and 160 characters. try and give each page a unique description.

You can name the div/items in the inspector panel more meaningful terms as well rather than itemx it could be things like header, contacts etc
