I’m at http://seedmother.com/. All I want to do is add some more pages, I’m trying to do that on the master page on which I have based all my other pages. Whenever I try to edit that nav bar at the top (to just add a simple link, I get all this weird overlapping text and it only applies it to the first page. I specifically set this site up with one master page so it would be simple to add pages and edit. What am I doing wrong? Tried force republish and it didn’t do anything. I did not upload the mess I made.
Thanks in advance. LAD

Without seeing the FW file I cannot be too specific but I do see that your construction method is going to cause problems across browsers.
With browsers varying the font sizes they display there are several places where (at a viewers slightly larger text size) your are going to see text/graphic overlaps.
If you look at your home page using Safari. In Safari’s View menu enable ‘Zoom Text Only’. Now use Cmd + a couple of times to bump up the text size. What happens to your layout?
There are various other issues with your pages ie slow load times at photojournal.html where average image file size seems to about 0.5Mb. That makes for a very heavy page.
Also watch out for the use of spaces and other characters in file names - this should be avoided. An example of this is Rusty in a Good Light.jpg it should really be Rusty-in-a-Good-Light.jpg or Rusty_in_a_Good_Light.jpg to be correct.

Thanks for the critique, those items are way over my head, the site seems to look okay on my end but I’ll take them under advisement.
My question was why can’t I just make a simple text edit in the navigation bar? It’s just a simple line of text with text link style applied and one link opens in a new window. It works fine. I just want to add another link for new pages I want to add, but, as I said, the text comes out overlapped and won’t apply to the pages. All are based on the master page…I don’t get it at all, I’m sorry I’m just not a web person which is why I use frwy.

Basically I recommend for some good reason to use a list and apply the CSS-Menu action (cause in fact your construction is a wild bunch of links).
Furthermore your item which contains those links is twice on the page item1a and item1a1. Delete at least one.

Thanks Thomas, I don’t know how that happened. I thought I was building it logically but I must have misunderstood. I’m not sure what you mean “a wild bunch of links”. I thought I could just make a text link to the other pages on my master and then dupe the pages and all would update.

It’s about the difference between website and webpage and it’s about google (SEO) and how they treat it (perhaps).
Using text links means, that you point to singular pages. Those satellites are back linking to each singular page on your server.
So google might say “wow - what a huge project - let’s make this important”. Unfortunately google says: "Gosh - what’s going on here?
A navigation wraps your pages and turns it into a website (or web project) and is one of the five required elements of a project (header, navigation, content, aside and footer) in a modern web world.
So sometimes it’s “what you see isn’t what you get although you can see it.” But if you don’t mind about SEO you can leave as it is (it was just meant as sidestep).
