[Pro] What am I doing wrong with my box model?

Hi All

This is the first site that I’ve really used the box model on and I’m having a few problems.
If you look at the site (http://www.tkdcentresofexcellence.co.uk/home.html), you will notice a box underneath the 3 cameo photos to the right. I’m trying to achieve 2 boxes side by side here, one large and one small, with a thin dividing line. The current white outline is not intentional, and I can see it is something to do with having 2 HTML items next to each other.

The way I have created this is to insert 2 html items within a 2nd html item (one floated to the left and one to the right)

How do I achieve the look of 2 blocks of text on the grey background separated by a vertical thin white line?

ALSO

The blue word ‘more’ in the right hand of these 2 boxes is supposed to be a link to another page, and yet it doesn’t act as a link in Safari or FF, but does in IE - is this related to the above problem?

ALSO ALSO(!)

I have set up the navigation bar as CSS menus, which appear to work fine but the ‘extensions’ of the bar at each end have been set up manually as graphic items. Visually, it looks okay, until you increase or decrease the browser point size, then the nav bar changes without the extensions. Any suggestions as to a fix or how I would have been better doing this?

All suggestions (or indeed crticisms) gratefully accepted.

Just realised, I can’t select the text either, even though it’s HTML. It’s as though there’s something in front preventing it from being selected.

Just a thought - and probably totally wrong! - but is the box for CSS
Menu set to a fixed height instead of undefined?

Sorry, I was referring to the boxes at the bottom where the text can’t be selected. It doesn’t appear to make any difference to the nav bar whether I set it to fixed height or not - it still enlarges if the browser text size is increased.
