There was much speculation and debate last year here;

I was even thinking about posting some flyers on trees or getting these shirts printed up to help in the search ![]()
He came, he educated, he went.

I was thinking that the other day - I know people bought those screen casts including me, but the least he could do is let everybody get access to them ‘on the house’ they will outdated very soon anyway…

I think it’s clear at this point he doesn’t want to be found. At least not by FWTalk. Maybe it’s best to respect his decision to leave and stay gone and let it go. It was after all his choice. Dan gave a lot to the FW users and his presence is obviously missed but he wasn’t the heart and soul of FWTalk either.

Todd, I need your help. I’m having problems with setting up a Perch FAQ linked questions page. Please shoot me an email and I’ll email you the link.
Thanks!

Concur, sadly.
Opportunity now open for someone else to make some interesting screen casts and possibly a little money into the bargain.

Raven,
I actually have a number of Dan’s screencasts, including the ‘Box Model’ one.
Under the circumstances, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind you receiving a copy.
I just don’t know how to get an email address to you.
You could visit my website and find it there perhaps.

Looking at the various threads, it seems that most veteran Freeway users found Dan Jasker’s screencast on ‘Box Model’ indispensable in developing their knowledge of this format. Unfortunately for those of us late to the party, it is impossible to find a copy and there is nothing remotely comparable in the Freeway tutorial material.
Looking at Dan’s posts late in 2011, it seems he had plans to set up another website but it never came to fruition. Does anyone have any further information or know where new users might find the original screencast, be it free or fee based.
Thanks

The problem is that the casts are at least property of Dan and we all had to purchase them (5 bucks as far as I remember) but aren’t allowed to pass them through.
As I said in several other posts I’m planning (and I already started) a series of screencasts how I personally tackle a freeway project from the very start. BoxModel as I learned it is a very central theme and of course part of that journey.
So far the good news - now the bad ones:
My english is so strangely limited that I do hard to explain everything up to my expectations and it takes me massively more time than I expected.
So I decided to give this first part currently for free, so if you are interested in, feel free to have a look on:
http://kimmich-dm.de/wordpress/?p=307
Purchasing money always looks like “would you please sponsor my first ferrari, please?” but in fact it isn’t. My plan is to support Walter’s actionsforge next, so the more I get, the more I’ll give and at least just to cover my personal costs.
So let me know what you think?
Cheers

I thought it would be a nice little revenue stream for Softpress, especially as they (Joe) have done some already.
Good on you Thomas for taken up the baton; but I’m rather confused by your link. Do we have to sign up to Poststamp ? Whatever that is. I liked Dan’s download complete package method, nice and simple. Though I appreciate that might involve more of a commitment to set-up. I’m also not sure about including a screencast that includes other actions, as here with webyep (nothing against WY I should add). Just a bit confused so nothing new there.
Anyway, you asked ![]()

Maybe - but I see the BoxModel off Softpress cause it is a “not-official” way to use FW.

No you shouldn’t do that-yet. This is later plan if I have more stuff. But then (that’ll be the plan) you decide what you want:
Poststamp:
Sign in a single day (24h 0,79€) and watch them all.
Silver:
Seek stuff for 3 months
Premium
A year (incl. downloads and goodies).
It’s just a thought (a plan), even not sure if I purchase it or give it for free (or to starve who knows?). I invested a lot of time (as a lot of you, too) in the past writing a lot of stuff in FWT, too much up to my thinking. Furthermore I’m running a german Freeway-Forum as well.
I liked Dan’s download complete package method, nice and simple. Though I appreciate that might involve more of a commitment to set-up.
Without any doubt one possibility. But always 5 bucks for things you probably need or not? The sign-in method was currently the nearest cause I don’t wan’t to invoice worldwide (Tax …).
I’m also not sure about including a screencast that includes other actions, as here with webyep (nothing against WY I should add). Just a bit confused so nothing new there.
The basic idea of the BoxModel Contest was to show how I do it. And as I said WebYep is “probably” in. Furthermore, the knowledge about one method is often useful for other ways to go, too. If WebYep is in is not part of the boxmodel-method. And it would be a way to support Max as well.
But who cares? 0.79 for all so no extra costs.
Does this clear up the things a bit more?
Cheers

Perhaps this is where Dan Jasker has gone?:
http://davidjamesgroup.com/news/djg-welcomes-two-new-employees
I can understand his new employer possibly requiring him to end his personal sites. Would have been great to have had some advance notice of the closure though - I could have purchased some more templates and tutorials!
