I would recommend rethinking the leading; “Een ontworpen tekst leest beter” just isn’t right. You can’t design text. I do know what yo mean, but this doesn’t cover it.
The linked Titles on the frontpage would do better when they were coloured in my opinion. Not for the sake of identifying them as being links, but it just looks better and that way they also separate the posts more effectively.
Stockphotography … stick to one photographer or at least one style of photography. The images are very common, and don’t stand out.
I very much do like the layout and the color scheme though, it breaths.
I like it too. I’m a big fan of clean design, so this fits in perfectly with my personal taste. BTW, I really like your responsive menu. That’s the one thing about BackDraft that I’m not crazy about.
Caleb, if you’re scanning this thread, is there anyway you can offer a similar menu in BackDraft as an option? If so, I would almost certainly have to purchase a copy of your template.
I will certainly look into Richards suggestions. They are spot on. The photography is not all stockphoto, in fact there are pictures made by myself there. That is why I decided to use my own pictures from now on. And now Richard said it; I know for sure that’s a good decision to stand out.
Well the menu should be a fairly easy job for Caleb to embed in his template! If needed I can help…
But overall I think that all of you here understood what I try to achieve: a clean, less is more website with attention to the text.
I made it responsive with the great help of Ernie and Caleb, just here on Freewaytalk!
Very nice! I wish some of my clients would accept a design like that. They usually want a circus on every page! And, then continuously add new content sections or graphics all over the place.
I like the colors as well. And, of course the responsiveness…
