[Pro] Wierd 1st page in page list behaviour

I know this is going to sound bizarre, but it happens almost regularly and cannot be explained.

I have a site that has around 10 pages built off the same master page. On this page there are 20 layer items that rotate, a Target image that rotates between two, and a few rollovers, CSS Menus, carousel and other regular content.

When I make a change to one of the 20 layer items from the Master page…publish and upload—certain items in the stack will not work on the page that happens to be first in the page list. What I mean is, they either show blank with nothing there or a frame where the image should be with a line of type in the top left corner stating what the image is.

The changes will show up on every other page in the page panel except the 1st page. And, it doesn’t freak out every time, but it does it often. I have cleaned Master page elements and re-apply master. It fixes it for a while, but if I make a couple more changes, it stops displaying them.

I am using Freeway 5. I have discussed this with Softpress and they say that I am the only person who has complained of this.

If I experience these symptoms, I have to do some random thing like go to the inspector panel and drag one item up or down one space, or flip a couple of items. This most times will force it into working. But, then it will do it again. And remember, this is only happening on the 1st page in the page list. All the other pages built on this master work fine. It’s happened over and over again.

It’s un-nerving. Anyone had any similar experience? Are there some of you out there that are still using version 4 because of some of these type issues?

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

There are certain cases where an Action will get confused about the
files it is managing. When this problem surfaces, you will see things
like the favicon file being substituted for the JavaScript library
you’re trying to attach to the page. It can cause non-specific errors
that are maddening to diagnose.

If you ever see anything odd happening in a page or site where you use
a lot of different file-handling Actions, a good general
troubleshooting step is to empty your local Site folder (on your hard
drive), empty the Trash, and publish again. This forces things into a
pristine state.

I hope that in the 5.4.2 update that some of these things have been addressed.

It happened to me with target show/hide layer, where on the Master page I changed something, and on the child pages the changes would not take. I contacted support several times and they told me there were some known issues.

What I ended up doing for my target show hide items was just buy BANNER ZEST PRO from Aquafadas. I created the items in Freeway, exported, imported the items into Banner Zest and created the stack they way I needed them to be.

In Freeway, copy the code into an Mark up item. After I started doing by show/hide items in this manner they consistently work without fail.

I hope Freeway gets to that point with their actions. So far, I have found them to be sporadic.
