The smooth scroll action does not working.
I use follow actions on the page:
Flexible page, Auto Clearfix, Meta Plus, Smooth Scroll, Favicon, Animation Fix and the WOW slider
I use follow actions on the site folder:
Backdraft 2,0, Scoll To Top, Wep Yeb conf.
Google fonts
On this page i don’t use the WOW Slider but only the Smooth Scroll Action.http://www.webgraphic.be/preview/vanrusselt/acties.php
And know the smooth Scroll Action works!
Only the ACTIES on the navigation works for this moment with the smooth scroll.
Can somebody help me, that it also works on my homepage? So that the WOW slider and the Smooth Scroll action works together.
One or more Actions are introducing Scriptaculous/Prototype that don’t work pretty well with jQuery (which is introduced by WOW). I’m not aware of all those action you use so I can’t tell you which is doing what (and for what reason they are used).
Another point I’d like to note is image weight. Over 700k is a crime - we’re doing web (I suppose).
On the homepage i not using WebYep, and smooth scroll don’t work.
On the page acties, i’m using WebYep and there works Smooth Scroll fine: http://www.webgraphic.be/preview/vanrusselt/acties.php
You can test it by using the acties on the navigation.
Animation Fix: your element fade in, our something else if you want.
You’re using products and stuff off my knowledge and reach, so I’m off any support here.
I recommend to remove actions step-by-step looking what happens. At the point things will work again you know which action is making trouble. That’s what I’m used to do in your situation.
I test it and the problem ( i think) is the WOW-Slider and the Smooth Scroll don’t work together.
Because the WOW-Slider works with jQuery and the Smooth Scroll uses Prototype.
I ask it also on Caleb, he is also not familiar enough with JavaScript and how the libraries interact to be able to help. And give me the hint to: you may need to reach out on Freewaytalk about this
I have a simple rule written on my flag - so I can only speak for myself:
Introducing jQuery is irreversible. Once stepped there, no internal library based action is allowed to use anymore. This means, that for every single “effect” I need to substitute the action by a native jQuery solution.
And there we are:
Even if I got a “smooth scroll” jQuery solution (and I got), I can’t ensure if it works in your surrounding. I’m simply not able to debug and support stuff like this - so as the most of us. So I’m not willed and able to share any further support within FreewayTalk.
This is by the way one of the biggest drawback for “Action Developers”. Even if they’re able to share and support a single action, they can only speak for THIS specific task but never for the global JustWork as we’re used to have in the past.
I understand myself as a WebDeveloper with some design enhancements and for this I have to sharpen my tools every day. Naturally - cause I want to generate turnover. Freeway is just my editor - not more, not less.
