I have a design question for you.
I started designing my 3-language site starting from a mater page called “english” which holds basically all common top and side headers, menu, footer and background picture.
Then I created all needed English pages, say around 10, adding content in English. The result is a monolingual more or less working site. So far so good. My idea was to make of the 10 pages instances 10 master pages which I would have in turn created children for each additional language.
The trouble is, as soon as I make a master from an instance I lose the connection of this page to the 1rst page it was inherited from, ie. in this case the “english” page, since inheritance does not work between master pages. That means making a modification to the header, footer or background picture will imply to manually modify these 10 master pages instead of one.
Does that make sense or did I forget something in the process? Is there a workaround to this potential hassle?
BTW, just for a reference my temporary site is in http://celticcenter.eu/private_/fw1/
