I reported this as a bug to Softpress, but I am curious if others have run into this same problem.

Prepare a set of data for CSV (one of the columns needs to have commas in the field, for example the following row was what I used: (i am putting two exact strings in brackets with the CSV output from Excel) {Year,Make,Model,Engine,Trans,Miles,GVW,Color,Options,VIN #,Price
2006,IHC,4300,IHC210hp,auto5sp,145K,25K,yellow,“22’PS,AC,HydroBrks, ramp”,6H186794,“$ 19,950.00”} please note that because the options and price have commas in the field a set of double quotes surrounds them. -
Create a default table as described in this ( Importing a Spreadsheet CSV File into a Freeway Table - Freeway - Softpress Talk ) instruction set.
-
When the import is done check the table (note, you will have to shrink the columns to get to the columns to view the problem)
-
Notice under Options the options are now parsing based on the comma, not the whole enclosed string between the double quotes. So now my VIN number has AC in it, and Price has HydroBrks.
I would expect Freeway to properly parse the string here, that when a comma is encountered inside double quotes that it is ignored in the parse.
