I’m afraid QuickTime as a specific format isn’t something I’d use for general cross-platform web-based video handling. For general use I recommend embedding YouTube or Vimeo video streams. All the tech details - or at least most of them - are taken care of, and you don’t even have to worry about your web hosting bandwidth.
If this doesn’t help could you explain a little more about what you’re trying to do? Maybe post a link to a test page?
