RE: Deactivating Pages?

Why not just copy as a master page and call on it when you need to publish.

Oh do I wish…

You could create a folder in your project and move the page in there, it will publish but you could then just delete that folder by ftp after upload… I know, a real pain but until Freeway has some of these basic things we should expect then I know of no other way.

If you had a robots file on the server you could tell Google and most other spiders not to look in that folder although… maybe place two non layered items on the page and then Freeway will probably not publish it, you will get an error each time you upload the site but it might be an ugly way of stopping the page from getting published, just need to make sure you removed the old copy from the server.

Not great help I know…

Or , if you have access, you could use a redirect for your
domain.com/event” in the domain control panel (e.g. in CPanel) to
send visitors to a different page when required.

I just tested this on one of my own sites and the redirect takes
effect almost immediately. You won’t have to make any changes to your
site in Freeway while visitors, instead of getting a 404 error, can be
directed to a dedicated page telling them, e.g., that there are no
events scheduled. Rather a neat solution, I think (if I say so
myself).
