Long ago, there was something in MacOS called a “publshing mechanism”, through which you could select a part of a document, publish it through creating a specific document, and them subscribe to this from any other application… which indeed is exactly what you want.
This died I don’t know why, and, I believe, wasn’t even ported to OSX…
