Read Feed not linking to RSS

I have a page http://goo.gl/b5TQo with the Read Feed action applied on the right hand html box to display the latest blog post. The blog post titles display fine except that when you click on them it just refreshes the current page instead of going to the actual blog post.

I’m sure I’m missing something but I just do not know where to look anymore

When you set up readfeed, did you point it to a feed that included
links to individual stories? (These have to be “permalinks” as in
completely unique URLs that only point to one story.) Are you in
control of the RSS feed itself? How is it being created?

When I look at my rss.php page all the blog posts are just on one long page with no links back to the individual stories

What made the rss.php page? Are you referring to the script that’s a
part of the ReadFeed Action? All that does is get the feed from your
source and reformat it into HTML. But RSS can vary wildly with respect
to format and contents, so that’s why ReadFeed lets you create a
template for each feed you subscribe to. If the defaults aren’t making
it, you will need to dig into the source of your feed (NetNewsWire is
excellent for this purpose) and compare the actual field names with
the names in the template. You access the template through the Action
interface.

Walt thanks for all the help. I figured that the rss feed is just a flat html text file and the individual post titles are not active links. The script developer want to charge a fee to tweak the script to include the active links. Unfortunately I do not know how to change this myself in the php code - I think it’s time crack a php book or two open and start to figure this stuff out for myself. So for the mean time I’m just going to do the links manually.

Marcel, please contact me off-list[1] with the actual URL you are
putting into the ReadFeed Action. I need to see the original RSS to
see if this is actually true or not. If you are scraping a traditional
“linked list” feed, the Action should work right out of the box. If
you’re pointing it at anything else, you probably have a better chance
of an error message than anything else. So I’m a little fuzzy on what
might be the underlying cause here.
