Hi all,
thought this could be a better place to post this:
I need to “rebuild” a page with various things in and seem to be overwhelmed in finding out what weapons to choose to get all of those handled within Freeway.
The page:
http://www.porsche-design.com
I know that this is a very complex js but is there any chance to do the steps:
- Intro
- Carousel with a hover stat on prev/next buttons only showing a part of the prev/next pane
- Porsche Design The battle - a hover glide up
Sorry for the small description and lame list title - but hmmm … no idea on how to better name the child.
That’s the actual point I am:

It would be a really great thing to challenge this together.
Thanks in advance to any takers
Cheers

Hi thomas this is a real complicated lot of effects to try and emulate with javascript
I can see you have done quite a bit but it wont be easy especially if you start to include the large drop-downs the preview panels with the prev and next carousel etc etc there a shed load of stuff in there which is why it was probably done in Flash…
but I would probably start as you have done by tackling one bit at a time and getting that working as you want in all the browsers before moving on to the next element
I too would probably use jQuery as there a lot more examples of the effects, drop downs, carousels, ect you are trying to emulate
all the bests max

Hi Max,
hope you’re fine.
Yes - indeed, jQuery sounds not too bad.
But there’s always the pain that I can’t say at what point of work including jQuery causes to me unsolvable code collisions with the “usual” Freeway-work. And I feel myself not in the position to find out what’s to be done then (and Scripty-actions or FX-actions do not outermost react positive on jQuery including as I could recognize in the past).
Regarding the flyout-menues it would be a big challenge to once add this possibility to our css-menu-action, isn’t it?
The other pain of it is, that it is the first time to me, not being responsible in client discussion. Will mean, that I have an art-director selling stuff outside and he’s a big big fan of flash (looking) pages.
He want’s to have me to do the stuff, cause we work in print-issues together and I’m fear of following the big footsteps he’s leaving in the snow (… maybe I underrate myself too much - but better sooner than later).
Cheers
