What are the real benefits of the rpl action and what is the best way to build a website with a Relatve page layout?

It simulates an inline (box model) construction - or rather helps create one without you doing all the work.

All you really need to do is ensure that all items are layered and not overlapping - FW then takes over.

I think there is a FW Moment tutorial video.

The benefits are allowing expandable content without page disruption whether through visitors using larger font sizes or when using a CMS to add variable amounts of text etc.

This is a simplification - read up on Inline/Box Model construction.

David, thanks for your explanation! I will look for the video. Does the inline construcion also mean that you can build a responsive website this way?

And do I have to use html boxes with unlimitid height?
