If you have used FWs own format when creating a site ie FW doc, media folder etc and site folder and actually put all the graphics etc that you have used into the media folder then you wouldn’t get this problem because all the files would be in the same relative position.
When you copy your files from one drive to another then FW’s internal links to the files are broken and have to be recreated.
So for each site that you are moving to your new MB make sure that you have all the necessary files and that you know where they are.
eg for the EnergyChex site I would create a folder on my HD called (for example) EChex and within that folder I would have my FW doc, a media files folder, a folder for text files etc that the client sent me, a site folder and probably another folder for miscellaneous files like js stuff.
So when I transfer the files from the external I would put them in the appropriate folder on my new MB.
Once the FW doc is on the MB I would open it and create a new site folder within the containing folder.
Only then would I address the issue of missing graphics etc.
Edit>Resources and go through what can and cannot be found. If you have moved all your graphics into the ‘media’ folder on the MB then when you update/find a missing graphic in that folder then FW will often ‘find’ the other missing graphics that are in the same place.
Inevitably there will be files that came from somewhere else and FW will show the path where they used to be. Copy these additional files into the ‘media’ folder and repeat the process.
If you are really stuck you could use files from the old site folder but I would then use them as ‘pass throughs’ so that FW didn’t tweak them any more. (If you cant find the originals).
The lesson to be learned from this is that it pays dividends to have a structured system of file storage and not to drag/drop, copy and paste unless you have a central repository for your files.
