Responsive video banner

Can anyone offer guidance on best practice for accomplishing the following.

A video banner, full width, responsive, which can be overlayed with HTML title/menu item with links ?

As here https://www.airbnb.com

I am currently exploring the possibilities of Tim’s Responsive Video action. This requires a link to youtube/vimeo - what if the video is on my machine ?
And can it be full width as in Walter’s VideoBackground ?

All help and suggestions welcome as I am currently not getting on very well with my efforts !

Richard,

this is NO video at all, this is just a sort of slider.

It can be solved by WOW Slider, Exhibeo and others (even pure CSS solutions perhaps).

I can see they slide Thomas. But there is movement, subtle yes, but movement within each slide. So I assume it is a video ?
If not then what ?

As already said:

It’s a jQuery Slideshow (have a google for). Can’t figure out which one of the billions available. CSS transition can make things like this possible.

Perhaps I should put aside the airbnb header for the moment maybe a bad example for me to post. Nevertheless, I do see, within each slide, people moving about, serving breakfast, eating, walking, etc Do you not see this in your browser Thomas ? Does this mean that a movie can be placed within an Exhibeo,WOW or whatever ?

However, I do not really want the slidy thing, just a single movie header. So is a video banner, full width, responsive, which can be overlayed with HTML title/menu item with links possible ?

Well - I see just static images (perhaps me is served something different)?

Video - I do not know at all. Just referred to the above mentioned example.

Interesting- I wonder if airbnb know that not everybody gets the full benefit of their doubtless expensive slider/movie show. For me it works in Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

Anyway , back to my (eternal) need for guidance - anyone else in FW Land able to offer a thought or the benefit of their experience with background movies ?
