Rollover problems

I’ve been using Freeway for about 7-8 years and before Version 4 of Freeway Pro didn;t really have much of a problem. Since Version 4 which I must use, as I’m on MacOS 10.4, I’ve had a never ending series of problems trying to get some rollovers to work. It’s especially problematic when updating rollovers from older websites made before Freeway Pro 4. For example I can’t change the type in both the normal state and the over state as the program won’t allow me access. I’ve tried as many ways as I can to access it. Always ending up giving up and not changing the rollover. As in a previous post the old rollover tutorials don’t quite apply to version 4 and need updating.

Does anyone have any idea what has changed with rollovers in Freeway Pro 4 and why?

The issue is probably to do with things being layered rather than
unlayered. When an object is marked as being a layer - the layer
option in the Inspector is checked - then it effectively floats
disconnected from other items on the page. This means that it won’t
be able to work with underlying graphics to produce a rollover.

Try unchecking the Layer checkbox, or try grouping the items together
and unlayering them within their layer group ‘object’.

This inability for layered graphics to merge or connect with other
items is a bit of a pain at times, but it isn’t any different from
how things used to behave. What’s different is that Freeway now
encourages this kind of layered layout construction, because, to put
it very simply, that’s actually a more modern and generally flexible
approach; it produces divs rather than table code.
