Rollover submit button not working

I have a strange problem (another one  with a graphical submit button that should get a nice rollover effect.

The button resides within a (CSS aligned) table and got the “Submit image rollover” action applied. Furthermore in the inspector pane, the “Submit” option has been marked and it also got a name there.

However when the site is generated, no rollover effect. Even in the sourcecode, there is nothing.

I then tried to add the “Submit image rollover” action I had on file… same result. The source code is kept untouched, no rollover.

Even deleting the entire website folder and letting FW generate anything from scratch, the result is still the same.

Surely the error is on my side, but I can’t figure it out and hope for some insights…

By the way, on an other page to generate, I have currently some JavaScript errors (FW claims about when generating the site). Could this mean a negative side effect ?

I can’t seem to reproduce the problems you are describing. Here’s an
example page I just put together that shows the form submit image with
the action attached and displaying the three image states; normal,
rollover and mouse down;
http://www.freewayactions.com/test/submit-button-rollover/

The JavaScript error you are seeing on another page shouldn’t be why
this rollover isn’t working but you should consider tracking down the
bug as the action on that page is having problems doing it’s job by
the sounds of it.

If after looking at the example Freeway 5 Pro file I posted (above)
you are still having problems feel free to get back to me and i’ll
take a closer look at your Freeway file.

Thanks for your time and efforts to provide me an example… well, it works great.

However (as always), I then tried to create a button from scratch using your template - and failed.

You can download it at TOBIAS EICHNER IT + CONSULTING - Information Technology Is Our Universe ! and give it a try of your own. Likely you see what I did wrong at first glance.

This is the HTML it produced:

Still an open issue… I talked with Softpress’ support and they were unable to assist. Just got told that it’s an problem with the rollover action and they have no solution.

Well, I made another small project at TOBIAS EICHNER IT + CONSULTING - Information Technology Is Our Universe ! - no rollover effect.

Finally I got the advice to code it manually, which is generally not an issue. But… I want to avoid breaking how things are handled in FW whenever possible. So I would be thankful if someone experienced with FW actions can have a short look at it.

Thank you

Tobias.

Hi Tobias,
I can see that either the action, Freeway, or both of them are having
problems with your stacked images for the submit button rollover. I’d
suggest using the Parameters (rather than Images) tab in the action
and select a pass though graphic for the rollover and mouse down states.

Tim.
