Rounded corners not transparent

Hi all-

Been trying out the 5 pro demo for a little while… really like it!

I’d like rounded corners. I can do it and it works well using a PNG 24 out of Photoshop… but that’s not supported by IE6.

So, I tried Illustrator import - brilliant and looks right in layout, and is my preferred editing method… but when previewed, the corners go solid white, meaning, there is solid white fill where it should be transparent.

When I try the built-in functionality to create rounded corners, I get a semi-transparent white fill where there should be full transparency…

I’m trying this out with white borders on a black background.

Any help appreciated!

Are you ensuring that your output settings in the inspector are set to png and its not defaulting to jpg or gif?

Hi David-

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately, I see no settings for output… where are they?

thx

I found the settings - but with the imported Illustrator artwork, when I change the output to PNG, the border, as well as the rounded corners, disappear, and I get an error message on preview.

The seems to be because in the “Item appearance settings”, once the output is changed to PNG, the background image setting disappears.

Also, after changing the settings several times, the text box no longer stretches to accomodate the text - I have to delete it and create a new HTML item.

I’ll keep experimenting.

Is it the imported artwork that has the rounded corners?

I thought you were importing into a box in FW that had rounded corners.

It may be that you then have to save the Illustrator file as a png

…the background image setting disappears.

What exactly do you mean by this? The page background… the box background?

Are you using a graphic or HTML box for your artwork. Illustrator file as background image?

Can you put the page online so that we can see it.
