Is it just me or does anyone else just get the Windows download from
the Safari page at http://www.apple.com/safari/download/ ?
If I manually swap the user agent to IE 8 then the sniffer in the
iframe on that page offers me a selection of downloads but without it
it just downloads the exe. Odd.
Regards,
Tim.
I haven’t tried through the site, it was automatic through Software Update.

You’re correct Tim, the apple site has Windows and Windows versions. Doh!

It seems that pages with large blocks of text in a single container will trigger the reader - unlike the small unrelated blocks in your second link, David.

I was wondering this too as I have a blog that doesn’t trigger the reader.

Anyone know how the Safari 5 “Reader” (tab in the URL bar) gets triggered from the code point of view?

Weird, this page on our site Digital Business Cards triggers the reader, yet the pages next to it, in a similar format don’t.

It doesn’t seem to happen on local files. I just saved the iA page and opened it locally and the reader button didn’t appear.
From a little Googling some people seem to be saying there is a word count plus the need for at least one h tag - though with no official word form Apple it’s all speculation really.
