I use the actual scriptyfader action auto interval 5 /showing spinner.
Because the action is not yet available for FW6 I use FW5.5.6. in the clients website. She says that the transitions are not smooth on her iPad.
I dont own one and at http://ipad-emulator.org/ it seems to be fine.
Has someone seen any problems with the transition of the action in iPads? And if yes, how are they exactly?
Could perhaps someone be so kind an test it?
The only thing that might make these transitions less than smooth is file size. If you’re swapping out images, make sure that you compress them thoroughly.
There’s no absolute limit I can tell you will or won’t work. It depends on how complex and large the rest of the surrounding HTML is, how many other images are on the page, etc. The iPad (and iPhone) are seriously memory-starved devices, and they use all sorts of tricks to handle large Web pages and complex resources in that scarcity. SF does not use image preloading, so it is natural for there to be a little stutter on the first load of a pane containing an image. But once all the panes have loaded, a normal browser will keep them all in memory and swap them fluidly. iOS may not have enough memory to do this on your page, so it dumps the cache and reloads the images from the network. This causes the stutter again.

I am reading this string on my iPad. Went to the URL specified and the iPad template loaded up smoothly. I also selected each of the other templates and they all loaded smoothly as far as I can see.
iPad 4 and Safari in use. I hope this helps.
