ScriptyAccordion with image as header not working (at least for me)

Hi everybody!

I run Freeway 5.4.2 Pro Trial and try to get a ScriptyAccordion 0.5.2 with IMAGES as headers and divs (layered HTML item) as bodies running, but simply can’t get it running. I tried every description I found on freewaytalk for images as headers (and selecting img as trigger and div for elements) - I also downloaded the FW5 Pro file from

http://freshbrand.com/STUFF/accordion/

but I simply can’t get it running, neither in Preview, nor in Safari (also tried clearing Site Folders, emptied caches, checked)!

Does anyone have an idea, what to do? Very unlikely, but could it be the trial version I use?

Thanks a lot in advance,
Dieter!

Make sure that your elements are inline children of the item you have
applied the SA Action to, and it should just work. If you’ve drawn the
elements as layered objects, then all you need to do is cut and paste
each one in order into the parent HTML box (the one that SA is applied
to). Like this:

  1. Select first header (all 8 handles showing). Cut to the clipboard.
  2. Double-click into the parent HTML box, so you see the flashing text
    cursor. Paste.
  3. Select first DIV as in 1. Paste into the HTML box as in 2.
  4. Repeat until everything is inline within the parent box.

There should only be one instance of SA within the entire accordion
box element, and it should be applied to the outermost HTML box, of
which all the active elements are inline children.

There are no restrictions on this Action w/r/t the trial version.
(There is no way for an Action to “know” if Freeway is licensed or not.)

Thanks for the fast response (and by the way for the great action!), but that didn’t work either. I also tried completely from scratch, empty page (CSS on), draw HTML item/container, double click inside it to get the text cursor, via menu insert graphic, insert text, insert graphic, insert text. Then added background color to the graphic items and text inside the html items. Applied the SA action to the container, set it to click, img, div and leave the rest untouched (so initially only first div should show up).

Result: in the browser (safari, firefox, both JS active) and in preview the second div is collapsed, the two header graphics show up, but they are not clickable.

I checked the generated source code and discovered, that in the HTML code there are

tags before the tags! As described above I didn’t enter any text inside the container, only the four elements - could that be a reason for the script to NOT being able to parse the imgs?

Thanks for digging into this. The P tags around the images are not the
issue, and Freeway will always put them there. (Everywhere except
within a table cell, they are usually required.)

It appears as though something is broken using this construction in a
vertical accordion (it works if you use this particular combination
for a horizontal layout). I’ll take a look at it as soon as I get a
chance.

In the meantime, you might consider using a single paragraph between
the images, using two linebreaks (option-return) to force paragraph
space between paragraphs if that’s what you need for your layout.

Ah, sorry, I meant shift-return, not option-return for a linefeed.
