ScriptyLightbox problems viewing on PCs

I have produced a site for my client with lots of scriptylightbox images. Works great on my Mac (Safari)

however the client complains that– ‘When you first click on a banner/invitation, the first attempt tries to en-large but instead makes it smaller and closes, on the second attempt it works correctly?’
Also, on another page – ‘Cannot en-large any of it (tries top open but just goes small and then closes)’

These things do not happen on Macs and I am at a loss as to what to do to put it right – any suggestions?

Are you using the very latest version of SL? I did quite a bit of work
in this area, not recently, but a while ago. What version are you
using, and what version of IE is your client using? (Note that IE is
the only browser that has this issue, and only certain versions.)

Hi Walt
Client is using IE 7.

That sounds like your problem right there. I would urge him or her to
upgrade immediately, just because having your computer taken over by
foreign nationals on a daily basis is so last week.

Absolutely, but he did raise the point that other visitors may well be using v7. Is there anything I can do to overcome the problem?

Nothing that I have tried seems to work consistently. Some browsers,
and some content, will seem to work just fine, while others will
either show the bug once then not again, or never work at all. The
issue is that IE in certain versions doesn’t have any idea of the
“natural size” of a photo. It’s a bug in the JavaScript interpreter
built into the browser.

So should we be avoiding ScriptyLightbox given that most of the world is uneducated and still using PCs and IE?
Is there a better alternative that will work properly? (not that I fancy doing all that work again).
