hi all
here is what I could use some help on. I created a pfd or a word doc that is text and small gif images, like a 6 page catalogue list. I made a scroll HTML and imported pdf and it worked fine with my computer but no one else’s. I would like to keep the document on the website and NOT graphic link to pdf action.
I also made a HTML frame, set inspector to scroll and pasted text , then pasted the images and they float and do not scroll with text… You see what I am up against. Anyone with sugggestions that
no I am not online… yet… yes you are right. how can I get the images inline with text,?
I do not want the PDF format to show so I pasted text inside graphic box(child in HTML) scroll but it will not import the image here. If i am able to do that yes it sits on a layer above and does not move with text scroll… any idea how can I accomplish my goal… The thing is I would like all info to stay nicely on site

Try pasting your text into an HTML text box, then select the graphic, copy it, and then click inside the HTML box so the cursor is flashing, and paste. The graphic will then move with the text. Or you can click in the HTML box so the cursor is flashing, then go Insert>Graphic Item, and import your picture into that, same result.
ok Dave that worked fine although I can not edit the text as the over flow is too long. I moved HTML box around but it falls too far down… what a pain… I also changed inspector to visible instead of scroll…
I realy would prefer to have my own buttons and use Scroll layer and Scroll content action… Can I do this with an image w/text?
If you are doing it this way then there is no reason that you cant split it over several pages.
Just add a hyperlink to the next page at the bottom of the content where you want it to break. 6 pages is too much content for one web page - people don’t like to scroll that much!
Hmm ok? no clue how to do this or how it will look. its really a list of 12 books with short descriptions but I will see how what you propose looks
interesting
thanks
I tried this does not work I am sure doing something wrong of course
I made 2 pages of text
I put hyperlink to next page on Scroll content (not Scroll Layer ) and then reversed it. Neither works I know I am daft
I am not quite sure how you are trying to do this without actually seeing anything but…you could email me the pdf of course.
The way I would do it would be to have 1 FW page that has the blurb for 2 books (maybe more but you did say it was a 6 page pdf)
Just make the FW page long enough to accommodate this text and not bother with scrolling stuff. And at the foot of the page a link to the next page with the next 2 books on it.
You could also have a CSS menu at the top with links to each of the individual book descriptions.
Dave
yes I was thinking of that option but now
I have split the pages and this works fine. All I have to do now is insert the images of the books but this is proving difficult on HTML page ugh. It was easy on Graphic page but I will keep trying… I can not go live on this website at the moment. Forget that I said it was 6 page pdf. The space was taken up by the images anyway.
what am I doing wrong? with the images I mean

I was able to Insert graphic item… never saw that one before… but only one glitch left… the first word each line is omitted or half there… what could that be… I am trying to figure this out…
Thanks for helping me

I can’t imagine what that might be. You don’t have any letter selected when you insert the Graphic Item do you? You should just have the cursor flashing in the place where you want to insert.
The graphic is above the text…not even on same line
It should be at the beginning of the line of text. Also, you should select each graphic and choose Align>Left from the Inspector. I also added some right margin, but that’s optional.
I have each image above the description image and text aligned center… still trying to find the cause of the problem… I do not want left alignment… may I should add margin lets see thanks
I have a small graphic book and text description aligned center underneath but now that I edit text into shorter lines across all is appearing which is odd, since in the layout view all is correct and lots of space on either side hmmmm
well more work for me
