Setting up a download sales system

I’m planning to provide graphic files that can be downloaded and paid for through Mals shopping cart. Is there an action to perform this task or what is the best way to achieve it. The shopping cart part of it I’m OK with, but basically, I don’t want visitors to be able to access pages with the downloadable files without first having completed payment. Downloads will be vector files, between 1MB and 2MB, with approximately 200 available initially. I want to get this set up correctly from the start as I’m planning to grow it fairly substantially and don’t want headaches further down the road.

Try…http://www.link-lock.com/software/linklock-mals-e.html

It works with Mals Shopping Cart and automatically sends out an email to the purchaser which contains a link that will expire and can only be used for so many downloads (also doesn’t show up the actual address of the file to the buyer)

Hope that helps,

FT

Hi James
I have used Linklokme for Mals to achieve this with craft video tutorials.
The developer, Adrian is a very helpful guy.
http://vibralogix.com/linklokme
I’m not code savvy but managed it ok.
Requires full support of PHP on your server - costs very little.
The only issue I have is that my client takes credit card payments via Mals
as a payment option and collects these manually. For such sales the card has
to be manually verified and the (encrypted) download links sent manually.
But for Paypal payments it is all automatic.

For that many products I would suss out how to use an external file that
lists them with appropriate identifiers - I’m sure its not hard.

If I had something downloadable to sell I would use this myself.
hope this helps

I haven’t actually used this, but it has been in my keen interest pile for awhile. http://www.zen-cart.com/

Looks very interesting… especially the FREE part!

Thanks, guys, they all look like suitable solutions. I’ll look into them further and decide which to go with.
