I have come to realize the quotes do not work at all.
A font name that consists of 2 words separated by a space (like Quicksand Book) have to be enclosed by quotes.
I can only assume that it is your implementation that isn’t working.
You could try this the long hand method (not the action) which my example page uses. If you want to send me a sample page I can add the code and send it back. The web fonts would be useful too.

Ok I did follow exact instructions on implementing the Alternative font in inspector
but I have changed everything back to the way it was already.
But if you do still want to see a sample page I can email you
also how do you want me to send web fonts?
the eot and ttf for font?

If you are happy with the way your fonts are being displayed then leave it as it is.
If not then send me that page with all the web fonts (eot and ttf) all zipped up.
Copy that page out of your doc into a new blank doc then save the new doc. Then File>Save Archive into a new folder - stick the fonts into that archive folder then zip the whole folder and email it over.
