simple new guy questions

please forgive my ignorance. I am not a designer, nor a web developer, I am a composer of contemporary classical music trying to make his own website.
I’ve gravitated towards freeway as it seems to be the most artist friendly in my books.

I am having trouble simply aligning things.
For instance, a drag and dropped graphic, in jpeg format. The align options in the item menu are greyed out. This also happens sometimes with a text box.

can someone help me align my web life?

You need something to align to - like another image. Select 2 images and then you will get alignment options.

But to set your pages up neatly drag some guides onto your Master page and align to them on the actual pages. You are using a Master aren’t you?

Yes it’s true, I am absoltlyey just starting out with this, so I’m not even sure if I’m using a master page yet.
I’m going to dive in now.
