I’m seeing more and more of these single-page websites out there and I’m wondering if anyone has experience using Freeway Pro to create one. I’m guessing they are becoming popular because of the increased usage of tablets and smart phones to access the internet. I searched the forum for discussion on the topic, but didn’t find any.
A common feature of these single-page websites is the use of some kind of popup navigation bar that magically appears at the top of the browser window as you scroll past the first page. The nav bar has links on it that move the user to anchors through the single page, kind of like moving from page to page on a traditional website. Many of them seem to be created using flash (http://www.pixelstadium.com/), which really surprises me since clearly the majority of tablets out there are iPads. One example I found looks like something that might be doable in Freeway (although I’m not completely sure how to replicate it). Example: http://www.teamgeek.co.za/#home
I’d like to create a single-page site as a responsive option for smart devices, but I’m not sure exactly how to go about doing it in Freeway Pro. I particularly like the single-page sites that feel like you are really moving from one page to another. One concern I have is that it will take forever to load.
Anyway, I’d really appreciate any discussion we can have on this topic, or if discussion already exists, please point me in the right direction.
there had been discussions about this on board named something like Parallax (have a search of the board) and it had been called “mind-blowing” (as far as I remember)
Basically I can’t say much cause I’m not an expert, but this basic effect had been achievable with flash in 1998 and was out there in 1999.
This kind of construction is far off responsive. It is furthermore very source intensive. I doubt that it is a good choice for mobile devices.
What you could do is to share parallax for desktop, but have a total different approach for mobile devices using the redirect-action.
So summary:
Nice looking is not all - functionality should dominate each approach. But these are my 2cents.

Can you show an example that you don’t like (using Scripty)? I’d like to have a good reference version of this effect in the mix, and seeing it broken is a first step toward fixing it.
An interesting solution that I hadn’t thought of. I was thinking more of the sort with the running animal and how much better that would have been if right to left. The thought of swiping it across on an ipad.
