Site address to long?!

I was told my address is to “wordy” to type and it’s not user friendly:
http://homepage.mac.com/observedphenomena/index.html

I can’t get around it!
My question is can I embed this address within emails I send to potential viewers–like a graphic within an email-
Or can I shorten the address somehow? ARGH!

I use the idisk site folder to publish my site, mac 10.3.9, freeway, and a .mac account. That’s it. Any suggestions from the gurus?

You can buy a short, inexpensive domain name (like dsart.info) and use it to point viewers’ browsers to your present address.

Anyone know if this affects Google ranking?

Hi Doug,
Try TinyUrl (http://www.tinyurl.com) or Shurl (http://www.shurl.org). Both with give you a free shortened URL that points to your given site and Shurl even lets you choose a word for the link (if it’s not already in use).
Shurl: http://shurl.org/cosmic
TinyUrl: http://tinyurl.com/6gx5a5
Regards,
Tim.

Also, don’t forget that you can simply use http://homepage.mac.com/observedphenomena leaving off index.html. Tim’s suggestion is better, however.
