I would like to recreate the slider at the top of this page, or something similar:
Did they create the script themselves? I don’t see a reference to Google’s jquery in there. This works well on the iPad/iPhone.
I previously created a slider/carousel using Bannerzest Pro and was extremely disappointed to find out that the alternative version that plays on iPad/iPhone “is always a simple fade slideshow, no matter the theme you selected. The goal here is not to provide an equivalent of the flash themes, but a backup plan in case there is no flash player on the device.” That is a direct quote from Aquafadas on their forums.
Well, it cannot do the 3D circular effect, but you can do a much-
simplified version of this effect with the ScriptyCarousel Action.
Available at ActionsForge, and extensively discussed here.

Have a look a the live version 2 it has a next back button arrangemet - mine is set to auto rotate. After a bit of help from a good friend on here I was able to get it working fine in Freeway.
I got the carousel working, just testing it for compatibility in everything. The site owner said, “I like the other one better.” [sigh] I explained that it degraded to a simple slideshow on the iPad/iPhone. He’s trying to decide if he cares or not.
So, now I think I will give the Boutique Carousel a try. Thanks, Trev. It looks good in the browers and on the iPad/iPhone. Just trying to keep the customer satisfied. Will it conflict with the Protaculous stuff?
I understand it my not just be as slick - but there always seems to be something ‘better’ out there and the customer will want to have it! Re your conflict question - sorry I don’t know - I havn’t got any other Protaculous stuff on my page.
Hope the Boutique Carousel works out for you or perhaps another project.
