Smoothscroll won't work

Hello everyone. I hold my hands up here - it’s probably me doing something stupid.

The sample is a one page ‘work-in-progress’ and the top menu should scroll smoothly to various anchor points, however it jumps, and vice-versa with the links to the top of the page.

It’s set at the default 0.6 in the actions window.

Once again, any help much appreciated.
thanks
Trev

Pretty convinced of an older action version? Discussed this recently here:

Well, I’m afraid that wasn’t the problem Thomas. I’ve downloaded the new action (0.5.4) and reapplied it to the page and still jumping rather than smooth scrolling.

New version not uploaded yet but will be in a few minutes.

Aren’t prototype/scriptaculous and jquery mortal enemies? The example page is loading all three.

I don’t know Ernie. The only ‘out of the ordinary’ thing on the page is the WOW slider slideshow at the top. So if this makes it NOT smooth scroll, then the slideshow is more important than the glide, so I’ll have to live with it.

You can have all of the effects, the only catch is that they use the same js dependencies, ie, all Prototype or all jQuery etc.

In any case you should not be loading different libraries. Cull it down to one flavor.

Thanks Todd, is there any way I (being a very part-time web designer) can find out what uses whatever flavour library?

Same experience, WOW slider and SmoothScroll don’t work together. Would like a solution as well.

WOW uses jQuery and Walter’s actions use Protaculous (Prototype).

Perhaps you can jump to http://cssslider.com
It is pure css and should work with the smooth scroll action.

Thanks for that Hanna, looks good. Do you know, how simple is it to incorporate into a BackDraft document?

Sorry I haven’t inspected Trev’s page example at all.

I’m using jQuery and nothing else on my projects these days.
If it comes to “slider or carousel” I do owl carousel.

The smooth scroll I’m used to do:

It is not difficult. You can read the help section:

Thanks Hanna, I want ahead and downloaded the trial and had a crack. With a bit of a nudge from Caleb, it’s working. There’s a flicker on the page on load which I’ll look into next week, but slideshow and smooth scroll are now playing nicely.

Thanks for the suggestion.
