The previous thread on this has become a bit long!
So here is my two centimes worth.
I know that Freeway still works but it is vulnerable to OS updates so I took a look at -
Blox - not at all like Freeway, don’t bother.
RapidWeaver - In its simple form this is entirely template-based and I don’t like templates! If you want to do anything serious with it you need to buy lots of extras (yuk) and they have the cheek to charge for viewing their training videos. It would be easy to spend 300 - 500 bucks if you want to use it professionally. Not Freewayish at all.
Sparkle - This made me grin within two minutes of opening the demo, so I bought it. Yes, there are many differences and ways of working but it has that Freeway ethic and would be fine for Pro simple sites or Express users. Duncan (the developer) is very supportive, many of the issues that I came across are already on their todo list. The site below was built from scratch in less than a day, I could probably halve that time now that I know where everything is. Helps greatly if you RTFM before you start
