Spawn New Window action: close window

Hi,

I am using the Spawn New Window action and I love it. If the window pops up, the user can close the window by clicking on the X graphic in the upper left corner.

However I’d like to add a graphic myself on the pop-up page that does exactly the same. Is this possible?

This doesn’t use SNW so may be totally irrelevant depending on the content of your Pop-up http://www.deltadesign.co/fw_examples/caption.html

The X - Close on the pop-up is a graphic added to the image underneath.

It might help if we can see your example.

Hi David,

Many thanks! Actually your example is what I have in mind. Here is a test page I made:

If you click on the image, the new new window appears (Spawn New Window). Then I’d like to click on the right red button to close the iFrame window again.

That’s really a nice usage. I wonder if there are methodes / plans to allow opacity and color adjustments to the mask. Any Thoughts?

I can’t see that you will be able to do that as the iframe content is in a separate page from the parent that created the iframe and the javascript required can’t cross over.

This page uses my original example’s structure but with video content.

Thanks Dave! Is this an action?

Thanks Dave! Is this an action?

That particular example is 3 actions

1 Penguin has a Rollover attached

2 The video container layer has Target Show/Hide Layer attached

3 HTML5 Video action within the container.

Revisit the link to download the FW 5.5 file http://www.deltadesign.co/fw_examples/popup-video.html

The iFrame and everything used to create it (including the Close button) is in a script running on the parent page. The Close Window Action is intended to close windows that are opened in the more traditional fashion - that is forcing the browser to pop open a new separate window.

I’ll have a think and see if this can be done. I’m sure there may be security issues that may limit or block the behaviour you are asking for.

HI,
seems you can do what’s wanted. Close Window Action updated and uploaded as part of the whole SNW Suite. There is a check box in the Close Window Action palette that you need to switch on if you are using the iPad Friendly Option in SNW.

Hope this helps.
