Strat up problem

When I open Freeway 5 Pro to update my site, i get an error message which refers to a particular .HTML file located on my hard drive and on my ISP’s server and says one or more actions have not been terminated correctly.

I am still able to update my site, and the file, which is opened by the user by means of a simple hyperlink, works fine.

Can someone help me please as to what I can do about this issue?

Which Action is giving you the problem?

That’s part of the problem. It doesn’t say and the only connection the file in question has with anything else is a hyperlink from one of the pages.

The message says
'Action: “DIARY2013-14.HTM”, File: "Hard Drive:Users:Batteneye:Library:Application Support Freeway 5:Actions:General:DIARY2013-14.htm

This is a verbatim copy of the message, complete with all punctuation.

Aha. Somehow you saved an HTM file in your Actions folder, and a properly-formed HTML file isn’t an Action, so Freeway is borking on that. Try the following steps to locate it:

Mac OS Lion or later: in the Finder, hold down the Option key, and choose Go / Library from the main menu.

Mac OS < Lion: in the Finder, choose Go / Library from the main menu.

Continue (in any version of Mac OS):

In the window that appears, navigate down to Application Support / Freeway [Pro or 5] / Actions and start looking for any files that don’t have the .fwaction or fwactionb file-type extension. You should be able to spot this DIARY… file pretty easily. Drill down to any level you find within that folder. (If you have Freeway 5.6 or lower, the outer file will be named Freeway 5, if you have 6 or later, it will be named Freeway Pro. You may have both, and you should look around in this general location until you find it.)

Thanks so much Walt. I’m truly grateful. I trashed the copy in the folder you referred me to and all is well now. The diary is still accessible by the online user.

Sincerely,

It’s important to note that only Actions and their support files should be placed anywhere in this Application Support / Freeway * folder. Unfortunately, Freeway seems to scan any text-like file in that folder and you’ve seen where that leads.
