Styles problem

Here is my problem. I have a site (some 100 pages). My client sends over some new text for their news page. Whether I type the text in (overwriting an existing story) or convert it to plain text in text edit and copy/paste into the div, a new style is created which obviously updates the style sheet. I then delete the new style created, but it has already affected every page in the site - meaning each page (all 100) get uploaded again.

Is there a way of pasting in new copy that doesn’t create a new style?

Have you tried Edit > Paste and match style?

Ahhh thank you Stewart… I must have looked in that menu hundreds of times and never noticed that option (or chose not to).
Worked perfectly. The simple things are the ones I seem to always overlook.

How about ‘Paste and match style’ in the ‘Edit’ menu?

This has been a problem discussed in other threads.

Paste and match style works, but you can’t just type in the paragraph without creating a new style, which doesn’t make any sense since there is no new style being created.
