Sudden color chage

I had manually set a text link set to medium green (links tab set to none) and it displayed properly in Safari and Firefox but as purple in IE8.

I then set the same color using the links tab (normal medium green / rollover dark green, the medium green shows up as purple in Safari, Firefox and IE8.

I have no idea how to get this very simple thing to work (I never had this problem before).

Are you sure you are not just seeing the Default Browser visited state which is Purple?

Try setting the visited state to something wacky that will stand out and see if that makes a difference.
