Not sure if the Beta list is the best place for this question but I’ll try here initially…
Continuing my experiments with alternating visible items, I’m finding the new implementation of Show/Hide less easy than it was in FW4. Maybe it’s just a terminology thing and I need to unlearn and play with that separately to get it working logically for me again.
Is there a manual update that covers Target Image and Target Show Hide Layer? I’ve looked at the New Features doc but that seems to concentrate on the slide transition effect and actually talks about Slave Show/Hide Layer rather than the Target version. Is there a difference?
I want to use a graphic to show/hide an HTML layer but so far using the steps in the new features doc cannot get the duplicated graphic to accept text.
I have just found a way to do what you want with the Target Show/Hide Layer Action (old name Slave Show/Hide Layer Action).
Apply the Rollover Action to the first image in the row, in the Parameters section of the Actions Palette (with the Rollover selected) set the MouseOver# to 1. Do the same to the other images but change theirs to MouseOver# 2 and 3 respectively.
Apply the Target Show/Hide Layer Action to each of the HTML layer items that you want to be triggered and set each of their settings as:
Initially: Hidden
Restore: Sticky
Effect: Fade
Duration: 0.5
Target Group: Indigo
and Target# 1 for the first 2 for the second and 3 for the third.
Preview in the browser and you should get something like this:

This looks extremely promising. Many thanks, Joe. Obviously it doesn’t do the slide down/slide up of the Combo FX but it is a good step in the right direction for the sort of thing I was after. I’ll give it a whirl…
All the best
