Text Field view in Page vs. Preview

Why is it that the length of a text field appears longer in the Page View than it does in the Preview?

Is there a setting that I’m missing that would make the Text Field (from the Insert menu) truly WYSIWYG?

There are a number of actions that can help with this but Freeze Form (the first one) should do the trick
