I am a sort of Hailies Comet of Freeway Pro users. Gone a long time,
then here briefly and gone again. I’m helping someone to get a site
up fairly quickly. We are hoping to use a particular kind of vertical
navigation menu on each page, but I don’t know what it is called and
browsing through the Freeway Pro docs I don’t see it. If it is beyond
my novice abilities I’ll probably fall back on a vertical CSS menu.
The CSS Menu podcast was very helpful.
What is the name for this kind of vertical navigation menu and where
should I be looking in the Freeway Pro 5 docs to read up on it:
At rest it looks approximately like this showing only the main menu
items:
Colors
Sizes
Varieties
Click on one of these main menu items and a submenu appears,
differentiated by indent or color or whatever. The submenu pushes
down the other main menu items, and it looks approximately like this:
Colors
Grey
Red
Green
Sizes
Varieties
Click on another one of these main menu items, the previous submenu,
err, retracts, and it looks like this:
I’m not surprised that this file didn’t install as an Action – this
link is to an example Freeway document. It should download as
a .freeway file. Try removing the .txt (no idea where that’s coming
from – what browser are you using there?) and open it in Freeway. The
Action is called ScriptyAccordion, and it’s available at ActionsForge.

Thanks. This downloaded as “accordion.freeway.txt”. I changed its
name to “accordion.freeway.fwaction”, also tried naming it
"accordion.fwaction.
Attempting to install it either by dropping it on Freeway’s dock
icon, or using Edit > Actions > Install Actions, I get an error
message:
“ACTION NOT TERMINATED. One or more Actions are not correctly
terminated.”
