Thoughts on Exhibeo-2

Re the jAlbum one - that zooms images in exactly the same way.

Just as an example - click on the first image and make your browser window around 1500px wide. Clicking the image zooms in. Clicking outside the image closes it.

Also, if you use an iFrame you can make sure a Bloxx gallery fits inside a container.

But them we’re back to uploading galleries separately etc., no?

Looses a lot of the appeal of the Exhibeo/FW marriage.

No, you could add the Bloxx gallery to a new blank page in Freeway and reference that in the iframe.

In hindsight, the thing that isn’t going to work is that you’d need the iframe to be large enough to hold the expanded gallery, but the initial thumbnail’s just going to be floating around in this big expanse until it’s been clicked.

Also Joe, and this is the point I was trying to make about the Bloxx theme and its inflexible nature, is that you can’t have it sitting in a page, in amongst other graphic elements (menus/titles/text/share-links/etc.) because it has the initial thumbnail, which is confusing if you’ve just clicked a menu link to go to that page expecting to see thumbnails. It only works on pages that offer the initial thumbnails instead of menu/text links and therefore, it’s redundant.

That’s not the point here. Adjust the browser window (narrow, wide), and the thumbs re-arrange. That’s what should be the effect.

Currently you end up with mini-thumbs, even to small to select with my little pinky. And in this day and age I don’t expect an iframe to be the solution for something that can be perfectly managed via ‘modern’ technology’.

It’s like ‘we’ are trying to mimic todays trends with yesterdays technology. That’s not even keeping up or getting ahead. That’s just lazy. All this free scripting/code/css is out there on the web, but none of it is used …
