Thumbnail spacing in Freeway

Is there a way to adjust the spacing between thumbnails either before of after export to Freeway Pro? I’d like them less close together. Thanks.

You can edit the stylesheet to do this:

  1. Locate your xbExport file
  2. Control/Right click on the file and select Show Package Contents
  3. Locate Resources/thumblie-style.css and open it in a good text editor (TextWrangler is great and free)
  4. Change the padding on the following rule to your preferred size: #exibid .xb-thumblie_thumbs li
  5. Republish in Freeway to see the change

If you’re using Bloxx then there isn’t really an easy way to do this yet (without also editing the JavaScript – we’re looking into making this easier).

Hey Joe
is there a way to keep the thumblie container in preset columns/rows instead of the container growing with browser.
this is the problem that arises with responsive sites only.

As long as your item has a fixed width then the grid should remain the same regardless of screen size. If this isn’t happening for you, could you send a link to the problem page so I can take a look at what’s happening?

Sorry, I think I misread your message.

If you want the grid to appear more even when resizing you should make all the thumbs the same aspect ratio by doing the following:

  1. Open Exhibeo
  2. Press Command-1 to go to the Thumbnail view
  3. Select all
  4. Go to Image>Thumbnail Cropping>3 x 4 (or whatever aspect ratio you want to use)
  5. Re-export the file

This way, when the container grows and shrinks in the browser, the thumbnails will all line up nicely with each other.
