Transfer from Rapidweaver

I have been using rapidweaver for quite a while now, but am now switching over to Freeway Express. I tried to upload my freeway express site but my old rapidweaver site still appears online. I figured that the freeway site would just override the old one done on rapidweaver. Am I missing something? What are the correct steps that need to be taken. As you can tell, I’m new to all of this. Thanks!

I would suggest that you must start with a clean slate and clear your old site of all the Rapidweaver files from your host first, being careful to only throw away the files that Rapidweaver (as well as Freeway Express) have uploaded so far. You would do this with a stand alone ftp application such as Transmit, or Cyberduck, or the venerable Fetch. There are many more, but these are popular.

Once this is done, then you can use Freeway’s built-in ftp capabilities to handle all further site updates.

Freeway will only over write files with the same filename - ie: index.html
or myamazingwebsi.html

It will not touch any that are differently named but residing in the
directory to which it uploads - or publishes.

So as chuckamuk says - remove the old stuff first.

The filename Freeway gives is auto generated from the page name you assign -
unless you manually change the filename itself, in which case it will keep
the name you give even if the page title is later changed.
all the best
