This is I guess more of a feature request when I come to think of it. I know its been discussed before some time ago but I was wondering if anything has moved on regards this.
I like using the move action but if there was some way to control the move for the likes of a pop up box then it would be a great feature.
I want to be able to trigger boxes on a page to move creating the impression of a slide out and then be able to click them closed from within the box thats slid out or from the same button that slid it out. The same idea as the hide layer/image actions but with a slide in and out.
I had a look at hype but I am still living in powerpc land so I am excluded from trying this out.
I noticed also Copellia but was wondering if it would do what I would like to achieve?
Yes indeed something very much like this. Ideally I’d like to have the box thats slid out to slide back in from whence it came once the close button or the logo is clicked. Is this possible?
I liked the link to the sale site! If I could use Exhibio over here in Powerpcland then I’d be buying it. Its frustrating to be stuck behind.
I was thinking of a more widely applicable setup where the box containing information or image or whatever would be capable of sliding in and out from under a button or rollover box.
A the moment I have been using the hide layer/image action.
See here http://www.adevlinvisual.com/tester2/#
But to extend my options it would be great if clicking on the logo caused the box to do that sliding in and out thing.
If it is acheivable that the trigger and the sliding box need not be adjacent to one another but this is design dependent. Also the capability to move horizontally or vertically but not the both at the one time!
Let me know if you have any further thoughts.
Cheers
I just tried it in Safari and I see the effect. It looks familiar. It looks like the effect I’ve seen used for image descriptions, there was an example of this somewhere before, it may well have been yourself.
Is it possible for the effect to extend beyond the bounds of the box its contained within at all?
I know. It is pretty frustrating. Not really sure why I’m sticking with it. As I’m still on a powerpc then this is as far on the firefox journey that I can go. I revisit it every now and again and see if there is a way round it but give up.
Strangest thing just happened when I went to upload that test file.
Now Transmit the ftp software won’t connect to the server. I’d uploaded the files that way as Freeway would let me due to something to do with a javascript permissions issue. I never read the message in full. Now freeway won’t connect either. And yet I can access the server via the admin panel.
Here was me hoping for a productive few hours tonight!
As if firefox wasn’t bad enough!
There is doubtless a PPC branch of Firefox that is much more current than that. Wade into the deep end here: http://firefoxmac.furbism.com

Hullo Walter.
Wow thats a lot of builds.
I tried the latest or my platform (4.2a) which is not bad but doesn’t support some of the add ons such as firebug and adblock.
I came across aurora which seems to work not bad and supports both the above add ons. I’ll give it a trial and see how it goes.
Got things working re the uploading issue. Still not sure what the issue was but back onto things.
Just wondered again if there was any particular reason that the transition action cannot be made to go to the left or right rather than just up and down?
There is a Scriptaculous Effect that does this, but there isn’t an Action wrapper for it yet. You could do this by hand using the Protaculous Action (which exposes a geek-level interface to the Prototype and Scriptaculous libraries). You would need to find an example code somewhere on the Web http://madrobby.github.com/scriptaculous/effect-grow/http://madrobby.github.com/scriptaculous/effect-shrink/ and paste it into the appropriate Function Body editor, though. It’s not for the click-and-drag crowd, I’m afraid.

Hello,
Ever since I did all that work on my website with Mal’s ecommerce, there has
been a # at the end of my website URL, which does not allow anyone to access
it. I removed the action, but how do I get the # off the end of my URL?

It is a hover effect on that one - do you have JS turned off?
